The Story
It all began with a small grill in a duffle bag, stored under the bed in my NYC apartment. A tale of the Northerner finding his way in the South…
I’ve been cooking since I was a kid. When all your mom makes is ice, you have to figure out a few things for yourself. (Just kidding, Mom…not really)
Outdoor cooking was always exciting to me. Living in New York City in the early 2000s, I’d keep a small grill in a duffle bag under the bed to take on tailgates at the Meadowlands or nearby concert venues. Man, I’d look forward to those tailgate days like no other.
Once I got to the South, everything changed. BBQ cooking school was a dream experience, and I finally had a chance to smoke food in my own backyard.
After cooking for family and friends for years, it just made sense to pass the goodness on to y’all.
My goal is to provide delicious smoked food that helps you make your gathering easier and more special. I hope you and your guests enjoy this food as much as it is my pleasure to prepare it for you.
The BBQ Landscape
The truth is, there’s a lot of great BBQ in Atlanta. Ask me and I’ll tell you my favorites. So many styles and influences. I consider Atlanta the crossroads of BBQ.
I won’t make any claims to be the best, the most delicious, the greatest value, etc. That’ll be up to each of you to decide.
What I will tell you is how much love and care goes in to every batch of BBQ I make. The selection, the prep, the finishing. Hand-trimming. Hand-pulling – no claws or machines. Everything is made as if I’m serving it to my own family and friends. I want every bite to be as clean and delicious as can be.
